Character Pro
You
say there are only nine general characters, does that mean you
can only develop nine characters with this software?
Absolutely
not. The nine basic types are just the starting point for your
characters - but everything relates back to one of the types.
You can develop your character in an infinite number of ways,
but having that backbone will keep the character consistent and
realistic.
Can
I output my character into my word processor and work on it there?
Yes.
Character Pro is compatible with any Windows program (it was written
with Microsoft programming software). You can cut and paste between
CP and any word processing program. You can also save your character
information as a Rich Text Format (.rtf) document, which can be
opened in any word processing program, including those on the
Macintosh--so the resulting documents are easy to distribute.
I
don't understand what to do with the "My Character-Development
Notes" boxes.
The
"My Character-Development Notes" boxes are located on
the last page of each of the sections. This box is editable by
you to put your own notes or questions. These notes remain the
same for every character you create in the future. You can use
them to help you think of your character in new ways as you develop
and write about your characters.
Can
I add or subtract questions in the questions boxes?
You can't add or delete questions, however you can add your own
questions to the "My Character-Development Notes" boxes
at the end of each section.
QuickStory
Is
there a demo version of QuickStory 5?
Currently we do not offer trial versions of any of our products.
We do, however, offer online Flash demonstrations and a 60-day
money-back guarantee.
I
have QuickStory and I love it. What I want is global Find and
Replace for the whole document.
Actually, now in version 5 when you use the Find or Find/Replace
features it will search the entire document. There's even a button
to "replace all" throughout a document. This makes it
easy to change a character name for example.

Plan Writer
Can
more than one person do a life plan? What's the maximum number
of lifeplans you can do on the software?
Absolutely. You can create and save as many lifeplans as you like.
Every time you open the program, it automatically opens the last
lifeplan you had open. Use the File/Open menu to open saved lifeplans.
Parent
Softworks
How
many children can I add to the list of kids?
There's no limit to the number of kids you can enter into the
program.
The
program seems like it's mostly for babies. I have a newborn but
I also have older children. What does it offer to help with the
older children?
Tons. It's true that the quick reference and growth charts focus
on newborns, but most of the program offers tools to help you
with children of all ages. You could keep track of doctor records
and health information, keep memories and pictures organized and
best of all get personality-based advice on kids right up through
the teen years.
