Character Writer Download

Download and install the version that matches your operating system below. To begin a free 14-day trial, enter your email address in the initial popup box. If you have purchased a Registration Key, enter it into the "Enter Registration Key" box found on the initial popup box to unlock all the features.

If you already have a registered version 4.0 installed on your computer and want to update to the current build, download and run the installer for your platform and you'll be upgraded to the new build.

Current Character Writer version: Character Writer 4.0.

Windows

Version 4

Requirements: Windows 7+ (Java is NOT required with this version!)

Download

To install:

Download CW4setup_32.exe file.
Double click file to start installer.
Follow instructions to install.

Mac

Version 4

Requirements: Mac OS X 10.7+ (Java is NOT required with this version!)

Download

To install:

Download CharacterWriter4.dmg file.
Double click file to open installation window.
Drag "characterwriter.app" to Applications folder.
Eject CW4 disk.

Important note regarding Mac OSX: Apple may claim the installation file is "damaged" when it is not. See the troubleshooter guide for more information.
